Start with the room’s two states
A wall-bed room is not only a bedroom with a folding bed. It is a daytime room and a night-time room that share the same envelope. Plan both states before discussing finishes.
- What happens in the room during the day
- Who sleeps there and how often
- What circulation must remain clear
- What storage, seating or work surface is required
Check the site, not just the floor plan
Final design depends on measured dimensions, wall and floor condition, openings, services, access and the clear operating zone. A plan or photograph is useful for the first conversation but does not replace site measurement.
Approve the complete operating arrangement
Before production, review the open and closed views, adjacent furniture, finish schedule, mounting assumptions, site-preparation responsibilities and handover guidance together.
